2017 tacoma manual not entering ready mode

I am having trouble getting into ready mode. I am using the 3x lock option on an OEM key. When I attempt to engage ready mode by placing the trans in neutral, pressing the break, engaging parking break and releasing the break the door locks actuate and the door ajar notification flashes on the dash when i release the break. when I remove the key from the ignition the truck kills and the truck does not attemt to start when commanded. If I cut the jumper the truck will start with the 3x lock command if I reach through the window and hold the clutch start bypass button so I know the unit is wired correctly but if i recoonect the jumper and try to engage m/t ready mode it does not work. should the door locks actuate and the door ajar notification go off when releasing the brake while attempting to engage ready mode?

When releasing the brake, the doors should unlock, parking light turn on and the red led on the EVOONE should be on steady.
