Remote start only works after you open and close the door

Question

The evo all wouldn't program to the car with the newest firmware, so you guys had me try firmware 4 20. It let me program it after that, but it only works after the door opens and closes. If the car sits it will only lock on the first of the 3 locks then no buttons on the fob work for a minute or so. When I unhook the evo all the fob works fine. 2011 jetta with standard key sn:001A07367332

Bad ground may do that as the unit would be grounding itself through another input. Please try ground the black wire from the 4pin black connector.
