How do i get my 2013 g37 to lock after remote starting times out/is turned off using the evo all?

The G37 has an auto lock/unlock feature that works when the car reaches 15mph and unlocks automatically when the car is shut off. I like the feature a lot and would like to keep it. I installed an Evo-all stand alone for the remote start feature. When i remote start it and it times out or is turned off, the car automacially unlocks the doors becaus the ignition is turned off. I used a t-harness to install so there are no BCM connections. Which connections do i need to use on the bcm and the Evo to make the lock after remote start feature work? I am assuming that the A4 & A5 connections on the evo are the correct connections that need to be made at 15 & 37 of the BCM? Will it work if the connections are made in the harness leaving the drivers door lock switch or do the connections need to be made at the BCM?

You need to connect at least the lock signal. Normally it has to be done at the BCM and it might actually be an empty pin (no wire in the actual pin location, see below picture). I do not have any information that any other location would work, this is how it's done on all Nissan/Infiniti PTS vehicles (except for the QX56 or something).

 

Lock/Arm is the pin labeled 103

Unlock/Disarm is the pin labeled 105

So my follow up question would be, where are the pins able to be bought from? I went to infiniti and they said they aren't available from the parts counter...(the guy didn't seem too interested in helping me).

Actually, if you are using the Nissan/Infiniti T-harness, THAR-NIS1, we added the clips to the wiring, all crimped and ready to go.

 

Other than that, no dealership has those parts. When a connector/wire goes bad in most cars, dealerships just change the entire harness :)

 

Your best bet here if you want the pin clip will be an electronic stores or the scrap yard to salvage one from an old harness.

 

If not, you can actually just manually poke wire through the pin location:

  • disconnect the connector at the BCM
  • remove about 2 inchs of shield from the tip of the wire from the EVO
  • twist the bare end wire really right
  • pass it thourhg the Pin location so that it comes out the other side,
  • flip the extruding wire over so that it goes to the side of the bcm connector when you reconnect it
So I finally am in front of the wiring again and it looks like my setup got skipped with being pre pinned? Kind of a bummer because I do have the combo kit that should of been pre pinned...would much rather have the pins than ghetto rig the wiring by shoving it into the harness and keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't ever come loose or make a weak connection.

Here is a step by step photo example of what Robert described in his previous comment. It is not very complicated, just keep the bent part of the wire straight while re-inserting the BCM connector back into the BCM
