2007 Tundra takeover leaves dash warning lights on

I have a Crimestopepr LC-4 hooked to an EVO-all on an '07 Tundra with tip start. I have everything working but after start when I try to use the key takeover I get the traction, ABS and RSCA lights left on.  They will not go off unless I turn the key off and back on.  I also notice the guages do not seem to operate until after I hit the brake.  I have the ign wires powered so there should not be a missed wire b ut I could be wrong.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Make sure both igniitons are powered as ignition; i.e. they stay at 12V during crank. Key sense is also not required and may cause odd issues when wired, so if it's connected, disconnect it.

Both wires are powered through crank and there is not a key sense wire hooked up.
Well, there does seem to have somekind of power issue.

- try a different ground point and a different 12V source.

- try disconnecting parking lights

- when it's remote started, all accessories radio, a/c, heater should be working, if they do not, maybe there's a blown fuse

Keep in mind that the LC-4 is a Low Current remote starter. Those ouputs may not  be "strong" enough to power the vehicles ignition/accessories. The only way to know would be to test how many amps go through at the ignition harness versus what the LC-4 can supply (should be written in the install guide).
I have a different +12 from the kick panel which is 12 guage so should be fine for the current I am using. I have enabled the D2D data and locks etc. work with the newer EVO-All firmware per Fortin tech support so that is all good.  Disconnecting the parking lights does not do anything different.

 

All accessories work when on RS and stay on with takeover.

 

I know the LC is low current so I have used relays for powering the ACC wires.  Below is what I have hooked up and since you seem to know a little about the Tundra you might have a suggestion.

 

LC wire pink/white (set as start)  to dark green at key switch

LC pink ign wire to black at key switch

LC orange/White wire (set as ign) powering 2 relays and are IGN and powered through crank. One relay powers the grey wire at key switch and the other powers the light green at the key switch.

 

I have tried both D2D and W2W settings and also changed the EVO options to see if anything in there was dropping the dash guages out while in start mode but nothing has made a difference.

If the problem comes from the bypass, that is really easy to test.

  1. Disconnect the entire bypass
  2. But the key upside down infront of the barrel. (or disconnect the the 2-pin keysense connector and put the key in the barrel)
  3. Activate the remote starter.

From there, that will help identify the origins of those lights coming on in your dash.

So both vehicle ignition wires AND the accessory wire are being powered as ignition? This may be the problem right here.

 

The trucks wires are:

  • Black and Light Green = Ignition
  • Gray = Accessory

 

LC-4 should look something like....

  • Pink/White to your relay that powers the start wire (you have this correct)
  • Pink - powers 2 relays: 1 relay for ignition1 (BLACK wire), and the other relay for ignition2 (Light Green wire)
  • Orange/white - set to Accessory and use the relay to power the grey wire
I have the wires corrected as suggested and I still have the ABS, Traction control and VSC lights on after key takeover. There must be something I am missing here but I cannot figure it out.  I am not 12V illiterate so I shoulod be able to get this fixed.  I am stull curious why the guages do not move until I use the key takeover. This may be my issue but I do not know which wire powers the guages or if they are through the CANBUS.  I will keep working on it until I get the answer and I will post any findings here.

Some vehicles will not have functional guages until a key is inserted. It shouldn't have anything to do with the Can-Bus either since there is nothing connected to the vehicles Can-Bus (well there shouldn't be anything connected there; if there is, remove it). Also, since you mentionned Can-Bus, make sure you are following the right install guide. The EVO-ALL does not connect to the can-bus on this truck.

 

This might sound like a nightmare, but disconnecting anything not relating to actually getting the car remote started may help in finding where the problem is.

i.e: door locks, parking lights, autolights, door triggers etc...

Also, datalink is not required in this install and I recommend to just cut the blue and white wires in the datalink connector.

 

Test the ignition relays you installed directly on the output going to the vehicle wires. Maybe one of them is actually not working.

 

Also, without the bypass connected, you should be able to start your car by remote start with the key near the barril.
