Is there any reason I would want to connect Driver Door Pin and Trunk Release in 2013 Mustang OEM 3x Remote Start

0 votes

My vehicle is a 2013 Mustang with a Manual Transmission.

I have an Evo-One with a THAR-FOR1 T-harness.  I am planning my install and do not understand why the Driver Door Pin & Trunk Release are called out on the Wiring Connection Guide??

I want to retain the factory alarm and OEM remotes' function.

Should I skip these two connections - or, are they important for some reason I do not understand?

Thanks.

Drivers door pin is for RAP control and proper operation of the alarm.

Trunk release is optional and can only be controlled via a rf kit or remote starter.

Thank you for the reply.

My Ford already has factory RAP (with the radio) & factory Trunk Release.  I wll be using the factory remotes.

After my EVO-One standalone install, will these functions still work, as usual, if I do not connect these two wires?
If using an aftermarket remote, the Trunk release connection is to allow control of the trunk from an aftermarket remote kit. You do not need this connection if you simply using the factory remote for remote start.

Driver door pin is to replicate Door Open after remote start shut down so that the radio does not stay on once the remote starter shuts down.
