2006 Cadillac CTS using unprogrammed GM remote with EVO One

0 votes
I have a 2006 CTS that has unprogrammed remotes. SInce it costs a lot to program them (special tool), I am looking into adding a different system for lock/unlock as well as adding remote start. I'd like to use a newer GM remote that has the remote start button vs having to press the lock button 3x. Is this possible? If not, can I use my existing remotes or will they still need to be programmed to the car?

All Oem remotes will need to be reprogrammed by the dealer, the factory remote start button is not supported to activate any of our systems.

Thank you,

Thanks. I see the EVO One can use an OEM remote to start via pushing lock 3x. Do the other functions (lock, unlock, trunk) go through the EVO or throuh the OEM wireless receiver? My point is that I don't want to waste money having the remotes programmed by a dealer if the EVO One can use them as-is.
All oem remote fuctions remain as they are, our module only "listens" to the lock signals going through the vehicle's canbus system to activate itself.

Adding an aftermarket remote and necessary connections, you can control doorlocks and truck via an aftermarket remote control.

Thank you,

You need to search YouTube. There a A LOT of videos that show how to reprogram your factory, or factory style, remotes to that vehicle. For the first remote to program takes about 1 minute, each additional about 30. If you want to use your factory remote to start that year/make/model you need to look at a different bypass module manufacturer. It would NOT be appropriate to tell you who, but there IS a bypass module manufacturer that will allow for 3x Lock to start the vehicle you listed.
