CANBUS Remote Start

0 votes
Is it possible to trigger a remote start through the CAN-BUS (HS-CAN or MS-CAN)? 2012 Ford Fusion. Goal is to use a ELM327 OBDII Bluetooth adapter (modified to include MS-CAN) and an Android phone, sending a request to the CAN-BUS that would trigger the remote start (or the EVO-ALL).

I know I could tie into the Yellow/Black wire off teh EVO-ALL and feed it negative but that would require me to include a relay system in between that I would like to avoid. Any assistance is greatly apprectiated.

Can you eloborate more as to why? Could I send the 3x lock to the CAN?
Because it is the evo that reads the command and interprets it then does what is neccessary atferwards. Not the car.
Thanks Derek. So with that I should be able to send 3x lock to the CAN?

The module is only reading/monitoring the can-bus and not wriiting anything to it when starting. The EVO is setup to monitor when 3xlock is pressed and then start up its OWN start sequence.

When the EVO is remote startering the car, it's powering up igniiton/accessory/start and giving transponder codes through Rx and Tx.

EVO is monitoring these functions

  • Lock
  • Unlock
  • Foot brake status
  • Tachomete status
  • Door Status
  • Hood Status
  • Trunk Status
  • Hand-Brake Status

All that said. Manage a way to send OEM remote lock/unlock commands on the can-bus and the EVO will read it. (send three of them for 3xlock start)

Thanks Robert, that's exactaly what I needed.
