Ford Edge will not start

0 votes
Evo-all, Service #001A106 607958, hardware version 6, date 01/2016, Firmware 71.35, C1 and D1 ON. Stand Alone with T harness.

2013 Ford Edge,  no hood pin or auto lift gate.

Wiring installed per guide 34421. Installed all 20 pin connector wires as shown in guide including A17 and A18 with exception of A14,  hand brake.  I am unclear where or what the relay is,  I did find a fuse relay 85 but it is empty and not used. Spoke to tech support and was told that this was not needed.

During programming all goes as plan through step 8, first key second time,  red and blue lights flash (did not try to count how many times so I am not sure if 10 times, but looked good). The blue light comes on and then turns off before I remove the key (thought this was the issue so I removed key faster before the blue light went out and this did not help solve the problem.

3X remote activates locks,  check engine light comes on,  car does not start.  When I key start the car it will not turn off until I remove the data connector.

This seems to get so close to working that I am sure it is a minor fix, loose connection,  but I am not sure where to concentrate my fix.

Sounds like the module has not programmed correctly.

Try going through the programming again start to finish but leave the RED connector from the module disconnected until after all programming is finished.

Then re connect the red connector and test the installation.

Did this, same results won't start.  What I noticed is that once it is finished everything looks normal on the dashboard,  however,  once I connect the red connector the check engine symbol pops up on the dashboard and ignition system failure notice displays in the top left of dashboard notice area.  Again,  does not remote start,  if I start with the key and then turn off the key the car stays running until I disconnect the red connecfor
Did you connect parking lights in the vehicle?
No I did not. This seemed like a bypass since it was not connected to the Evo. When I spoke to tech on the phone he said not to connect this. I am assuming the delay is the fuse box, fuse 30, and I need a jumper from BCM wire 6 to fuse 30. Would this be a correct assumption
No. If you are going to connect parking lights you need a relay (sold seperatly) to change the negative output to a positive. It is not a relay in the vehicle. So at no time was the Parking light wire connected?

Do you have a flash link updater? My next suggestion is a master reset but if this is done it will wipe out all the options in the module and you will need the flash link to re enable them.
Correct, parking lights not connected. Yes I have the flash link and can certainly reset the unit. So, I master reset, then update the firmware? and the put in the C1 and D1 options, correct?
Correct then you will program the module in the vehicle.

Just as before leave the red connector disconnected until all programming has been completed.

Are you familiar with the master reset procedure?
Yes,  found  procedure in blog
Tried and still same results.  One programmed,  inserted red connector,  engine light comes "Starting System Fault" is displayed on dash.  No remote 3x start,  if started by key need to remove red connector.  Everything looks good until the red connector is plugged in and then error occurs

At this point your best bet would be to call us at toll free 1-877-336-7797.

This way we can troubleshoot the problem over the phone. Be at the vehicle with a multi meter as well for testing purposes.

Sounds good- I will need to do another day, off to work. Do I ask for you or just take the first person to answer.
anyone here is willing to help:)
Guide 34421 shows OBD-II pin 3 connected for Can High and pin 11 connected for Can Low,  which is what I did.

I looked up the OBD-II pin assignments and it appears,  to me based on my research, that pin 6 is Can High and pin 14 is Can Low. Can you confirm that guide 34421 is actually correct or should the wires be moved to pin 6 and 14.
The can bus wires on thei vehicle are 3 & 11 as well as 6 & 14.

One set is for the BCM usually and one set is for the ECM.

You can try programming it on 6 & 14 it wont hurt anything.
