2011 Chevy Cruze won't program

0 votes
I installed the GM1V2 into my 2011 Chevy Cruze and programed it right the first time. Blue light on. All good. Then I realized I needed to turn on option 15 to use stand alone remote start so I bought the flash link 2 week later and programed it. I got in my car, followed steps 1 threw 3 got to 4 Turned to on postion waited until red led flashed and came back on, turned off, remove key, turn back to on position, yellow led flashed a couple of times then both yellow and red stayed on and my service deterrent message came on my dash and my car would not start. I unplugged everything and got my car to start and was fine. I tryed a couple of times to reprogram it and it does the same thing over and over again.... Everyting was properly connected including the brown wire the brown wire to pin 1 of the OBD2.... HELP :(

Hello anonymous,

First, you didn't have to reprogram the EVO-ALL when turning options on. Once programmed, it would stay programmed even if disconnected for months on end in a a Syberian storm.

What is the 12-digit service number fo the EVO-ALL?

In the meantime you can try this:

Master reset the EVO-ALL using this procedure (this will also turn all options back to default in the EVO):

  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in datalink connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.

-- Make sure nothing is connected to the dark blue hood input wire of the 20-pin connector. The only connection you should have is the one going to pin 1 of the OBD-II connector

-- Plug in only the RED connector and start the vehicle once or twice. Make sure everything is fine and that no theft light is on in the dash.

-- Leave the RED connector connected and try re-programming the module. Basically, make sure the red connector is already connected before even starting the programming procedure.

-- If programming went through, bring the EVO back to the flash-link to turn on the stand alone options. (C1 and D1). The master reset done previously set the options back to default.
