Takeover issue with 2019 Mazda CX-9

0 votes
I successfully installed and programmed my EVO ONE with THAR-ONE-MAZ3 on my 2019 CX-9

Remote start works fine but takeover doesn't.  It was definitely enabled in the programming options and I used the wizard

After unlocking the car, I get in, press the start/stop button and all it does is keep flashing.  Even after waiting for 5 minutes, I press the brake pedal and the car turns off.  I have tried changing the battery on the fob but did not try the other key yet

What am I missing?

Hi it is 002b04 189614
You need to press the start/stop twice.

Page 9 of the installation guide shows the takeover procedure: https://fortin.ca/download/68271/evo-one_ig_thr_bi_maz3-cx9-cx3_pts_2014-2017_1key_a_68271.pdf
If I'm reading this correctly, I'm to press it only once and it's supposed to flash twice. Please confirm.
No you are correct that is my mistake. I must have mis read it.

Next thing to try would be to roll the firmware back to 85.11, reset the evo (https://cdn.fortin.ca/en/download/61931/61931.pdf), then re program it in the vehicle and re run the dcryptor.

At that point test take over functionality again.
OK will give it a try and advise
The issue is resolved by downgrading to 85.11, however the takeover procedure in the documentation is incorrect.  You do need to press the start/stop button twice, not once.  I have tried this procedure with 85.12 and it didnt work, so definitely an issue with the latest firmware and documentation.
Glad that fixed it for you. I will pass your feedback along to engineering.
