Firmware Issue??

+1 vote
I'm having 2 issues(2011 Camaro)

1. My Evo All came preloaded with Firmware version 4.18, i have it connected to my push start unit...my push starts appears to work fine but whenever i turn my car off the doors lock after about 2-3 seconds arming my factory alarm, I have ignition controlled door locks deactivated on my push start and this still happens  so im assuming the Evo All is causing this to happen?? I have options 1-11 turned on, everything else 12-23 is off. my camaro from what i can find doesn't have an option to lock the car when its turned off.

2. I tried upgrading to the recommended firmware(70.10) hoping the locking after shutdown issue would be resolved but after doing this my push start completely stops working on this firmware, if i go back down to 4.18 it works correctly. i reprogram the unit but still no go, lock and unlock functions still work just not my push button.

Any Ideas?

Thanks for your help

Hello,

By factory, the vehicle will relock the doors after 30seconds of doing unlock if no doors were opened. In the 4.18 firmware we had to implement the same thing in order to propery arm-disarm the factory alarm. With the 70.10 though, we removed that since engineering found a different way.

2. There is no reason 70.10 did not work with your push system. Since I'm assuming you have a flash-link Updator, reflash to 70.10 and after do a master reset on the eVO then reprogram the unit.

Master reset procedure:

  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in datalink connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.

Excellent! Glad you have it figured out.
Hey Robert

Unfortunately im starting to have intermittent issues with starting...most of the time my car will start but like today i would hit my button i will hear clicking from the module as usually but no start...sometimes i can try a couple more times and then it will start...other times i will just have to use my key...and when i get to my destination and try the push button again it will work. im pretty sure none of my connections are loose, sometimes after starting my immobilizer light on my cluster will still be lit, my manual stated this is usually caused by using a key that isn't programmed..could this be a timing issue between the two units communicating? . it still sort of concerns me i cannot use none of the 70.xx firmwares with my setup other than 70.03. maybe i can try go back to firmware 4.18 and see if this problem reoccurs.....Do you have any thoughts?? Thanks
That key light is turning most likely because the EVO is not being activated as it should be. When starting the car with the addon push system, i beliwve that the EVO should be getting activated at the same time. Thus, you should see the RED LED on the EVO turn On.

We do not test the EVO-ALL or any products with addon push to start systems.

Tpyically, some vehicles would need to see transponder code only to start, while others would require it to be always present in the vehicle. The EVO-ALL is built as a bypass piece for remote starters and is meant to offer transponder code while the vehicle is remote started until the owner gets in  the vehicle; the owners key takes over transpnder bypass after.

I would recommend you contact the manufacturer of the push start system to see if they have seen previous problems like this before, and if they have solutions for you. Also, I'd recommend maybe bringing the system to a vehicle accessory installation shop near you. Those guys do this type of stuff on a daily basis and would most likely be able to resolve any problems.
i ended up unhooking a start sensing wire from my push start unit that i had connected to the tachometer wire of the evo, it seems that wasnt what it was for soo after doing that all the other firmwares that didnt work are now working...so im currently trying out the beta 6.0.44 that you suggesed....jus curious do you have details of what "GM Start Enhancement" of this firmware do? Thanks
It was meant for the start signal on the green/red wire of the EVO on some GMs when installing remote starters.
