Engine fails to remote start

The module is programmed correctly and all sequences leading up to the remote cranking of the engine work fine. At that point the parking lights come on and then the headlights flash, but nothing else.

Service number 002B07 338366

2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek  2.01 Premium 4 door

Automatic CVT

Everything works right up to the point where the starter should crank. Blue led on 3x lock press, red led lights and then dash lights come on, tach and speedometer swings. Then red, yellow and blue leds light. The module tries a second time but doesn't crank. In have double checked all of the wiring and it is correct.
Turn on option 2.1. It is currently set to 2.4 and this will completely re-arrange how the ignition switch is being powered.
I changed the firmware to 79.45 per Tech support and it starts as it should. Now, when I unlock the door to shut off the engine, the alarm honks the horn.

Since the carhas an OEM alarm, could I disconnect the module wire from the horn to bypass the modules alarm trigger?
Yeah, disconnecting the horn wire keeps the alarm from being triggered by the module.

One final question. 3 presses of the lock button starts the car, but how do I shut it off without being inside?

Thanks for your support.
If you are using a t-harness, and 2.4 is currently enabled, the vehicles 2nd ignition would be getting powered as a Starter/Crank signal.  2.1 is default setting.

Enable option D2 to disarm the oem alarm before start.

If the module can detect the OEM remotes while the engine is running, normally you press 3xlock again to shut it down.  Some US build vehicles we cannot detect the remotes while the engine is running. If it can detect the remotes, the blue led will flash once per lock press and twice per unlock.
